Lomandra longifolia
Description: Katrinus Deluxe’ is the new and improved form of Katrinus. Like Katrinus, it has outstanding performance. However, ‘Katrinus Deluxe’ has bigger and better flowers, a finer leaf and a more dense and compact form. ‘Katrinus Deluxe’ lives on natural rainfall, occasional top up watering will be required in extreme drought, and in desert inland type areas.
Size: 70cm high x 70 cm wide.
Planting Density: 2-6 plants per m², 1.5-2 plants per linear metre.
Uses: Mass planting and specimen planting.
Position: Full sun to moderate shade. Tolerates frost and drought. ‘Katrinus Deluxe’ suits sandy, sandy loam to clay soils.
Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). Ensure crown or base of plant is not below soil or mulch level. If required use slow release fertiliser in spring. Cut back to 20cm or half the height if required after 7 years. Avoid trimming ‘Katrinus Deluxe’ in drought conditions, or in the middle of summer.
