Blue Twist™ Dianella has stunning contrasting colours amongst its foliage, which sporadically twists and turns providing a unique look for gardeners and landscapers. One of the most attractive features of Blue Twist™ Dianella is that not only does it look amazing it is relatively easy to maintain; a relief for many gardeners.
Size: 50cm high x 50cm wide, flowers up to 1m.
Planting Density: 3-6 plants per m², 2-3 plants per linear metre.
Uses:Can be used for small scale mass planting, foliage or accent grassy gardens, adding a unique colour perspective to any garden.
Position: Tolerates a wide variety of climatic conditions except very cold regions of NZ. Full sun to part shade. Very hardy, drought and frost tolerant.
Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). Use slow release fertiliser in spring. Remove older leaves as required to keep the plant looking good. For a better foliage specimen, remove flowering stem before flowering. Once established do not water too much. When planting ensure that the base of the plant is not covered with mulch or soil.
Where it works: North & South Island (not suitable for Alpine type areas)
