Green John™ Callistemon viminalis
Description: Green John™ Callistemon is easier to grow and quicker to establish than Little John, but is slightly slower growing than the Better John™ plant. Its small red flowers are on view from mid spring to late spring.
Size: 60cm-1m high x 60cm wide.
Planting Density: 3-6 plants per m², 2-2.5 plants per linear metre.
Uses: Specimen and/or contrast planting.
Position: Full sun to part shade. Suits sandy to well drained soils. Tolerates drought and cold.
Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). If required use slow release fertiliser in spring. If ever required prune every 3-4 years for a natural shape, or every 2 years for a tidy hedge.
