Description: Emerald Arch™ Dianella is an ornamental flax lily distinguished by its majestic arching leaves. Flowering in the middle of spring and bearing a delicate blue yellow show of flowers. The Emerald Arch™ plant is suitable for shade and full sun, and grows well in most parts of New Zealand. It is an ideal choice to create a tropical feel in a landscape, using a very cold hardy plant.
Size: 50cm high x 50cm wide, flowers up to 1m.
Planting Density: 4-6 plants per m², 2-3 plants per linear metre.
Uses: A hardy versatile plant whose broad arching leaves create a tropical feel in the garden situation. Ideal as a foliage plant, mass planting, accent gardens, and low water requirement situations.
Position: Grows well in most parts of New Zealand, including regions that get to minus 10 degrees. Tolerates heavy shade to full sun.
Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). In cool to temperate zones simply remove older leaves annually, use a fungicide if required.
