Description: Macarthur™ Callistemon develops a more compact growth habit compared to Captain Cook and a better flower presentation than Little John. It establishes faster and has good frost and drought tolerance. Macarthur™ Callistemon only suffered minor tip burn in Canberra, Australia, meaning it will do well in climates like Christchurch.

Masses of red flowers in spring, then sporadically produced flowers in autumn.

Size: 1.8m high x 1.5m wide.

Planting Density: 1-2 plants per m², 1-1.5 plants per linear metre.

Uses: Medium sized shrub.

Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). If required use slow release fertiliser in spring. Prune to shape 1-3 times a year after flowering for a hedge (this depends on your requirements, more frequent pruning will provide a tidier hedge/shape).
